ICYMI: Pampanga MSMEs Join IFEx 2023: Showcasing the Culinary Excellence of the Province

The International Food Exhibition (IFEx) 2023, one of the most anticipated events in the food industry, was recently held from May 26 to 28, 2023, at the World Trade Center Manila. The event brought together food enthusiasts, buyers, and exhibitors from around the world to celebrate the diversity and quality of global cuisine. Among the participants were six food Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the province of Pampanga, known for its rich culinary heritage and exceptional food products.

Pampanga, located in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines, is renowned for its delectable cuisine, making it a hub for food lovers. The province boasts a wide range of delicacies, from mouth-watering pastries to flavorful native dishes. Recognizing the potential of their local MSMEs to compete in the international market, Pampanga sent a strong contingent of six export-ready food businesses to showcase their products at IFEx 2023.The participating Pampanga MSMEs included RPO Fine Foods Inc., Lailen's Pastries and Delicacies, Lola Puring's Food Products, Aiza's Sweets, Sasmuan Delicacies, and John N' Mico Food Products. These companies represent the best of what Pampanga's culinary scene has to offer, with each brand specializing in a unique range of products that embody the province's gastronomic excellence.

The Pampanga MSMEs were strategically located in both the Exporters Hall and the Marketplace, ensuring maximum visibility and accessibility to potential buyers. This dual presence allowed them to reach out to both international and domestic markets, creating opportunities for collaboration and business expansion. To support their participation, the Provincial Government of Pampanga subsidized the participation packages for both halls, enabling the MSMEs to showcase their products without a heavy financial burden.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pampanga played a crucial role in the success of the Pampanga delegation at IFEx 2023. The DTI assisted the MSMEs in the logistics and execution of booth layouts, ensuring that their displays were visually appealing and engaging. Additionally, the DTI monitored the actual event, providing guidance and support to the Pampanga participants throughout the exhibition.The event proved to be a resounding success for the Pampanga MSMEs. They received high cash sales, securing immediate revenue during the exhibition. 

Moreover, they booked numerous orders, indicating the potential for long-term business relationships and partnerships with local and international buyers. Most importantly, the MSMEs were able to present their exceptional products to the export market, enhancing the visibility and reputation of Pampanga's culinary treasures on a global scale.
